We're thrilled to announce that our short documentary, STRANDED, has won the prestigious award for Best Short Documentary at the Cannes Independent Shorts Festival. This achievement marks the 9th win for best short documentary, setting the stage for the much-anticipated release of our feature documentary, DIRTY COIN.
STRANDED is an exploration into how Bitcoin miners operating in remote regions of the world, are capable of financing new energy infrastructures in those locations and encourage over-building capacity on the grid with a flexible load (we also explain what a flexible load is xD).
STRANDED serves as a glimpse into the larger narrative that DIRTY COIN will explore. Is Bitcoin Mining a net positive industry? Our feature documentary will take a deep dive into how Bitcoin miners consume electricity somewhat differently than other industries, making them uniquely positioned to be a solution to lack of demand and over supply in some locations. But is it positive eveywhere? Why are entire countries banning the practice?
DIRTY COIN looks at Bitcoin mining case studies across the world, its environmental implications, and transformative impact on global availability of electricity.
